Man wearing surgical mask wanted in Capital One Bank robbery in Nesconset

Police are searching for a man who robbed a Nesconset bank this morning while wearing a surgical mask.



Police tell News 12 the robbery happened at the Capital One Bank located at 250 Smithtown Blvd. around 10:55 a.m. According to police, the man stated he had a gun and demanded money.



Police say the teller complied, gave him cash and the man then fled on foot eastbound on Smithtown Boulevard.



The man is described as a white male, 30 to 40 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium build. The man was last seen wearing a wool hat, sunglasses, dark sweatshirt, dark pants, white sneakers and a surgical mask.
