Police say a man is under arrest after hitting two people and leaving the scene in East Meadow.  According to police, a homeless man and a woman were hit at Hempstead Turnpike and East Meadow Avenue

Driver arrested in East Meadow hit-and-run
Police say a man is under arrest after hitting two people and leaving the scene in East Meadow. 
According to police, a homeless man and a woman were hit at Hempstead Turnpike and East Meadow Avenue just after 7 p.m. last night. The location is at the entrance to Eisenhower Park. 
Investigators say Oliver Blakeman, 80, of East Meadow, left the scene after the incident occurred. 
Blakeman is being charged with leaving the scene of an accident and will be in court tomorrow. 
The unidentified homeless man and woman who were hit are in serious condition with multiple injuries.
