Wake held for high school football player
Grieving friends and fellow football players continued to say their goodbyes today to a young athlete who died after a collision on the field.
Hundreds attended wake services today and Sunday for Shoreham-Wading River High School football player Tom Cutinella.
There were so many mourners that school buses had to shuttle people from local parking lots to St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Wading River. Cutinella died after Wednesday's collision on the field.
His wake continues tonight from 6-9 p.m. at the St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Wading River.
The 16-year-old's funeral will be held Tuesday morning at the church. Police say that North Country Road will be closed from Wading River-Manorville Road to North Wading River Road from approximately 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in anticipation of large crowds for the funeral.
