Lessmore Foundation cleans Brentwood BYA park
Residents in Brentwood took action in the community by cleaning a local park Saturday.
Members of the Lessmore Foundation trimmed trees and picked up garbage at the Modern Times Park. The park is home to the Brentwood Youth Association's football field.
Latia Sparks, of Brentwood, organized the event. She says she was inspired after watching her sons play their road games in neighboring communities.
Residents say it is more important now than ever to keep the park clean because another major park in the community is currently out of commission.
As News 12 has reported, Roberto Clemente Park, formerly known as Timberline Park, has been closed for months after toxic waste was illegally dumped there. Coach Steven Ramnarance says that has made Modern Times Park that much more important.
The Lessmore Foundation empowers single mothers and their children to experience wellness in health, sports and athletics.
