Long Beach residents rally for more security in wake of recent gun violence

Members of a Long Beach community rallied against violence today after a man was shot to death over the weekend.
Police say 28-year-old Tyrenzo Brown was killed early Saturday morning at the Channel Park apartments, a Long Beach Housing Authority complex.
Residents who say they no longer feel safe rallied outside of the city's Housing Authority offices today to vent their frustration and call for better security. People who live in the complex say there has been an increase in violence over the past several months.
Housing Authority Executive Director Paul Goodman says he recognizes the problems and plans to be more vigilant with evictions. "It's gotten to a point where we have to look at this and implement more aggressive programs," he said.
Police say no arrests have been made in Brown's shooting death. Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
