Police say an 11-year-old boy who went missing in Lynbrook has been located.
Police say Zell Boyd, a seventh-grader, had disappeared from his family's home on Atlantic Avenue at around 8 p.m. Friday.
Authorities announced Sunday evening that the boy had been located, but the circumstances surrounding his recovery were not immediately available.
The boy's mother, Tiffany Simmons, had told News 12 earlier Sunday that it was the second time her son had ran away. She had added that the last time, he had only been gone for a couple of hours.
Simmons said her son had been punished on Friday, and that may have prompted him to take off.
