Omil Carrasquillo, of Selden, accused of sexually abusing students

A teacher at a Brooklyn school who lives on Long Island is accused of sexually abusing young students.

Prosecutors say 36-year-old Omil Carrasquillo, of Selden, inappropriately touched five female students ranging in age from 9 to 11 years old.

He faces multiple counts of sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.

In court Thursday, Carrasquillo's attorney said his client is not guilty and will vigorously fight the charges. He said Carasquillo is a military veteran and a dedicated teacher.

A spokesperson for the New York City Department of Education says Carrasquillo has been removed from the classroom. He has reportedly been fired.
