(AP) -- Derek Jeter just wants to play - and he's hoping the weather cooperates.
On a damp and dreary day, Jeter entered the New York clubhouse pulling a suitcase about 3 1-2 hours before the scheduled start of his final home game at Yankee Stadium.
A chilly rain is in the forecast Thursday night, and Jeter and a lot of fans are hoping it doesn't put a damper on the farewell.
The 40-year-old retiring shortstop said he can't talk about emotional and sentimental things before the game against Baltimore.
Manager Joe Girardi said that everyone should prepare for a long night because of the weather.
