Outrage at Commack H.S. after rape joke post on social media

There is outrage at Commack High School after a group of boys joked about rape on social media.
In pictures obtained by News 12, five seniors are seen wearing T-shirts that spell out "rape," with one of them bound and laying on the ground.
The pictures were posted on Twitter and then deleted after protest. School officials say Thursday was senior picture day, and some students remained on the field to take more photos after the final bell.
One of the kids issued an apology on Twitter calling it a "dumb mistake," before deleting the account.
Another student who says he is friends with the group called it a joke gone wrong, saying they weren't trying to "promote rape," but just thought it would be funny.
The school district released a statement to News 12 saying that it deeply regrets the turmoil caused by the action of these students. It reads, "There is no doubt these students showed an inexcusable lack of judgment and their actions are taken very seriously. At this time, we are actively engaged in a comprehensive investigation to determine the full scope of this matter."
The district adds that it will take appropriate actions including, but not limited to, disciplinary and legal action if applicable.
