World leaders meet to discuss plot to destroy ISIS
An international conference is taking place today to plot a strategy to stop the terror group ISIS. The conference comes on the heels of the beheading of another Western captive.
British Prime Minister David Cameron is now vowing to hunt down those who killed aid worker David Haines.
Secretary of State John Kerry arrived in Paris this morning for the conference along with leaders from around the world to put together the global plan.
During his opening remarks, French president Francois Hollande said there is no time to lose in international efforts against ISIS.
The United States says 40 nations have agreed to contribute to the fight so far. Kerry said those countries are prepared to engage in military assistance, in actual strikes if that is what it requires.
In the coming days, Kerry is expected to name allied countries that will send in ground troops to fight ISIS.
Meanwhile back on U.S. soil, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder announced a series of new programs to fight extremism in the U.S.
Holder said these programs will bring together community representatives, public safety officials, religious leaders and United States attorneys to improve local engagement to counter violent extremism and ultimately to build a broad network of community partnerships to keep our nation safe.
Holder says the Obama Administration will work closely with community representatives across the country to develop strategies to combat violent extremism.
