Man attacked in downtown Riverhead

Police say another man has been attacked in downtown Riverhead following a string of attacks targeting Hispanics.

According to police, the man was robbed near Union Avenue early Wednesday.

The attack follows another mugging last week that took place a few blocks away.

Both attacks happened in the same area as eight other muggings last year.

Many of the the victims targeted were Hispanics.

So far, police are not linking the attacks.

In July, Kenneth Belcher, of Riverhead, and Bobby Riddick, of Middle Island, were accused of robbing a man on Old County Road in Riverhead.
