Police crack down on drag racers in Deer Park

Police arrested four men in two separate drag racing incidents on Saturday as an ongoing sting of drag racing on Deer Park Avenue continues.

Jason Bouziotis of Northport and Francis Muth of Medford were arrested after police clocked them racing at 75 miles per hour. Christopher Cantwell, a passenger in Muths car, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. In a separate incident, police arrested Jaesen Sellick of North Babylon for allegedly racing another car at 85 miles per hour. Police say the other car got away.

The undercover sting is part of Suffolk polices effort to stop racers in the area. Instead of receiving a ticket, drivers are being arrested and their cars confiscated. Sellick, Bouziotis and Muth were released on bail. They will face charges of reckless driving early next year.
