Sole survivor of Westbury crash relives nightmare on the stand

The sole survivor of a crash that killed four teens last year in Westbury testified Monday against Gerrard Ganz, who is on trial for DWI and manslaughter.

Tiffany Hagigal choked back tears as she relived the day her friends Shuana Madison, Analise Thelemaque, Ana Burgess and Guy Victor were killed. She described a scene of carnage and helplessness. Hagigal, who was driving on Old Country Road with a learner's permit on the night of the accident, said when the crash happened she began to shout out to the passengers but no one responded.

During cross-examination, Ganz's attorney tried to paint Hagigal as an inexperienced driver who may not have had the right of way. Parents were infuriated by the implication, saying it didn't matter if a baby was driving because Ganz was drunk. Neither Ganz nor his attorney would comment.
