Students, staff at Center Moriches H.S. rushed to the hospital

Twenty-four people at Center Moriches High School were rushed to the hospital Monday after complaining about feeling sick.

Emergency personnel were called to the school after 19 students, three cafeteria workers and two teachers began feeling light headed, nauseous and dizzy in the morning. The school was also evacuated while air quality tests were conducted. No problems with the air quality were found, so after about 45 minutes to an hour students and faculty were allowed back in.

School officials say they are not sure what happened but they will continue to test the air quality in the coming days.
