Huntington animal shelter makes plea for donations

A Huntington animal shelter is making a plea to the community for donations so that it can help some 70 families in need.

Little Shelter, which has been in existence since 1929, needs food and money so financially struggling families can feed their pets this holiday season. The shelter has plenty of food for the animals in their care but their cupboards are bare at their Training Wheels Community Outreach Program. Items needed include dry dog food, adult food, dog puppy food, cat dry and kitten dry.

Meanwhile, the shelter has dogs stranded during Hurricane Katrina that are up for adoption.
