First snowfall making things slippery for Long Island residents
Long Island residents awoke Sunday to a blanket of white as the first snow accumulation of the season coated lawns and roads.
Road crews were busy testing equipment and working to keep the highways and roads safe for travelers. Police say there have been several accidents caused by slippery conditions and are urging drivers to use caution.
Residents got a workout as snowball fights broke out across the Island. Sledding and shoveling were just a few of the activities induced by the snow.
