Crews in Syosset gear up for first substantial snowstorm of the season

Towns, counties and villages across Long Island are gearing up for the snowstorm expected to hit Monday night. It is the calm before the storm at the Town of Oyster Bay maintenance yard in Syosset where workers are making final preparations. Crews are checking plow equipment, loading tucks with sand and salt and hitching up plows. Accumulations are expected to reach two to six inches across the Island.
