Several taxis and limos seized in Nassau in registration crackdown

Nassau County has seized a dozen vehicles less than a week after out-of-county taxis and limos were ordered to pay $300 to do business in Nassau.

The vehicles seized were all busted in an undercover sting. None of the automobiles had the newly required Nassau County taxi registration diamond. Without proper registration, there isnt any insurance protecting passengers in case of an accident.

The drivers face fines from $1,500 to $38,000 to get their cars back.
