Two students stabbed at Brentwood High School

Two students were stabbed at Brentwood High School Friday in what police believe may be a gang-related incident.

Police say Wilson Cardoza, 15, and another student were attacked between classes and stabbed repeatedly with knives and pens. Both students were taken to Stony Brook University Hospital and treated for numerous puncture wounds. Police say it is not clear how many other kids were involved in the incident or if they were all students at the school. Police believe the attackers to be gang members.

Superintendent Les Black issued a statement saying the school district has a zero-tolerance policy for inappropriate behavior. Wilsons sister, Laura Viteri, says her brother has already been given a one-week suspension despite being the victim in the incident. Police say there are three suspects in the case so far, but no arrests have been made. The Suffolk gang unit will continue investigating.
