Three men arrested for armed home invasion in Great Neck

A cross-country telephone call saved a family of five from a home invasion in Great Neck Sunday.

Police say three armed men broke into a home on Old Pond Road around 7:30 p.m. One of the victims was talking on the phone to a friend in California when there was a loud crash and the phone went dead. Police say the California resident called Nassau County police and officers responded to the house. According to police, the suspects tied up an 80-year-old man, his 74-year-old wife, and their three sons. Police eventually caught all three suspects who have been charged with robbery, burglary and criminal use of a weapon.
