Suffolk DA probes Islip town supervisor's political activities

Islip Town Supervisor Pete McGowan has become the focus of the district attorneys ongoing political corruption probe.

Suffok District Attorney Tom Spota has seized computers, records and payroll information from McGowans office in order to study the spending of the Republicans million-dollar campaign fund. The district attorney is also looking over construction projects, car leases and restaurant receipts. Investigators suspect some of the items were paid for with McGowans campaign money.

A town spokesperson says the Town of Islip is cooperating fully with the DAs investigation.
