Tires slashed on dozens of buses in Plainedge School District

School bus drivers in the Plainedge School District arrived at work Friday morning to find tires slashed on dozens of buses. School officials say they believe vandals hopped the bus yard fence sometime Thursday night and slashed at least one tire on more than 30 buses. High school students in the district had to find an alternative way to school, while many middle school students arrived late. Buses from the Levittown School District were brought in to help with the morning commute. School officials say the district is looking into having video monitors installed at the bus depot.
