New Suffolk task force warns of holiday drinking and driving

A new Suffolk police task force designed to catch drunk motorists is warning against drinking and driving this holiday season.

The warning comes in the wake of three alcohol-related accidents, one deadly, in the last two days. One of the non-fatal accidents involved a man driving in the wrong direction on the Long Island Expressway.

Police say the nine-member task force has made 97 DWI arrests since its inception four weeks ago. Police recommend selecting a designated driver or taking a taxi.
