Northport man accused of poor box thefts pleads not guilty

A 45-year-old Northport man accused of stealing from a church poor box pleaded not guilty Wednesday.

Police say Donald Steck stole money from the poor box at St. Anthony of Padua Church in East Northport. Investigators say Steck was caught on tape two times, once on Christmas Day, and is suspected of two previous robberies after which the security cameras were installed.

Police say Steck made off with less than $100 each time.
