Bidders submit proposals for Nassau Coliseum development

The final proposals are in as four bidders vie to develop the area around the Nassau Coliseum.

Officials say some last minute adjustments made by the New York Mets and Blumenfeld Development Group may have tipped the scales in their favor. The groups proposal contains both residential and office space and adds more money for a light rail, pedestrian bridges, a completely new coliseum and a minor-league baseball park. A special committee will now review the proposals before making a recommendation to County Executive Tom Suozzi, who will then present it to the legislature. A Suozzi spokesperson said the special committee could take weeks or months to review the four plans.
