Increased traffic causes concerns for one East Northport neighborhood

Some East Northport residents said Thursday they are concerned over increased traffic

Resident Chris Prufeta says she counted 76 busses in less than two hours, cut through her neighborhood. Bus drivers with Huntington Coach told News 12 Long Island they cut through the neighborhood because it is unsafe to take such a sharp turn at Deposit and Pulaski.

Many residents say they are concerned because there are many school age kids living on the street.

Councilman Mark Capodanno (R-Centerport) says he is approaching the county about redesigning the dangerous intersection. He also says if laws are obeyed there is little the town can do about the traffic through the neighborhood.
