Military police honored with special ceremony in Uniondale

A group of military policemen were honored for their services in Iraq in Uniondale Saturday.

The brigade?s primary mission was policing of POW camps in Iraq. Ten of the military police were pinned with a Bronze Star. Many receiving the awards say they were long overdue.

The flag flew at half-staff throughout the awards ceremony, in honor of an officer killed last week in Iraq by a sniper. Several of the honored soldiers are expected to be called back to Iraq.
