Controversial beachfront restaurant opens in Lindenhurst

A controversial beachfront restaurant opened for business in Lindenhurst Saturday.

Residents fear the alcohol served at the Beach Hut will spill into their neighborhood. Earlier in the season residents protested the construction of the restaurant because they feared an increase in traffic and alcohol would endanger neighbors.

The Town of Babylon says they have addressed the concerns of some residents by installing speed bumps and increasing police patrols in the area. The owner of the Beach Hut also says the eatery will not be open late.
