Nassau parks worker accused of cheating taxpayers out of more than $12,000

A part-time worker for the Nassau County Department of Parks is accused of cheating taxpayers out of thousands of dollars. According to officials, 32-year-old Shomwa Shamapande was paid more than $12,000 for time he fraudulently put on his time sheets. Now, investigators want to know if Deputy County Executive Michael Klein actually signed the timesheets. Officials say they are increasing manpower to look into additional funds paid out by the parks department.
