Long Beach resident pleads guilty to murdering his wife

David Malone pleaded guilty Wednesday to murdering his wife last September.

Malone pleaded guilty to a single charge of second-degree murder for stabbing his wife in their Long Beach home. He now faces 17 years to life behind bars. Malone said he made a plea deal with prosecutors to spare both families from having to deal with a drawn out trial. According to prosecutors, if he had not made the deal he could have faced up to 25 years to life in jail.

David Malone is to be sentenced on September 30.
