Mystery man rescues victim from burning car on Southern State

A mystery man rescued a victim from a burning car on the Southern State Parkway Sunday morning and then left right away.

Shaohua Wen says he does not remember much about the car accident that sent him to the hospital. He says he was heading to Hicksville from his home in Brooklyn. According to state police, Wen was driving east on the Southern State when he crashed near Exit 17 in Lakeview. Police believe he fell asleep on his way to work.

Wen says after the accident his car burst into flames and someone grabbed him from the wreckage. Wen and police are unsure who saved him, but they believe it was the work of a good Samaritan.
