Glen Cove residents are trying to stay cool after being without power for several days due to a tornado.

Residents on Dosoris Lane are sweating out the heat while trying to pick up the pieces after a severe storm caused major damage. Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) officials say crews have been hard at work trying to restore power as quickly as possible.

A LIPA spokesperson says approximately 500 homes remain without power. They say they are confident all power will be restored soon.
