Valley Stream woman arrested for buying alcohol for minors

A Valley Stream mother was arrested Monday for buying alcohol for two of her daughter's teenaged friends. One of those teens wound up in a hospital, according to police. Police say about three weeks ago, Janet Bleier, 50, bought rum for the two girls and dropped them off at one of their homes without adult supervision. When one of the girls' mothers couldn't reach her on her cell phone, she drove to the home to find her daughter passed out. The girl was brought to Mercy Hospital, where she was treated and released. Bleier, who is also a member of the Valley Stream Central High School District Parent Teacher Student Association, has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child and is due in court on September 1
