Deer Park girl killed in crash in the Great South Bay

A girl from Deer Park was killed Wednesday after two boats collided in the Great South Bay just east of the Robert Moses Bridge.

According to police, 11-year-old Brianna Lieneck was killed after her family?s boat collided with a Grady White driven by 33-year-old Steven Fleischer, of Bay Shore, shortly after 9 p.m.

Brianna?s parents, Frank and Gina Lieneck, are in Southside Hospital listed in critical condition. Her 13-year-old sister and a friend were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with minor injuries. Fleischer and two passengers on his boat suffered minor injuries.

Fleischer was arrested for boating while intoxicated. Although initial testing found no alcohol in Fleischer's system, additional tests are pending. Fleischer is now charged with a misdemeanor and was released on his own recognizance.
