Scoutmaster charged with sexually abusing member of his Great Neck troop

A Boy Scout leader from Queens pleaded innocent to charges that he sexually abused a member of his troop.

Police arrested 51-year-old Ronald Occhipinti, a scoutmaster of Troop 183 in Great Neck, at his home Friday.

The Queens district attorney says the Occhipinti brought the boy to his home several times dating back to the summer of 2003, when the child was 11 years old. According to investigators, Occhipinti took explicit photographs of the boy and had him perform sexual acts.

Occhipinti was arraigned on multiple charges and bail was set at $250,000.
