Angry father fights back during Oceanside home invasion

(08/25/05) OCEANSIDE ? A pair of robbers got more than they bargained for during a home invasion early Thursday morning in Oceanside.

Neighbors say a father fought back when the robbers demanded money and threatened to harm the man?s children. According to residents, the father began throwing objects and breaking windows in an attempt to alert neighbors. Police say the robbers punched the man in the face and fled the house.

Despite being punched, witnesses say the father pursued the two men as they left the home. They then got in a vehicle and took off ? empty handed. Police are asking anyone with information about the attempted robbery to call Nassau Crimestoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
