Son of missing NUMC doctor charged with his murder
Police say a doctor at Nassau University Medical Center who went missing earlier this week was bludgeoned to death by his son.
Dr. Joseph Kazigo, 67, was last seen leaving the hospital Wednesday morning. His apartment in Westbury showed signs of foul play. According to police, the back door was forced open and there was evidence of violence.
Homicide detectives interviewed the doctor?s son, 26-year-old Mulumba Kazigo, and arrested him in connection with his father?s death. He is charged with second-degree murder. State police found Kazigo?s body in densely wooded area in Westchester County.
