Another Nassau County employee arrested in timesheet scandal

A seasonal worker for the Nassau Parks Department has been arrested for stealing $1,400 by lying on his timesheet.

Nassau County District Attorney Denis Dillon says 35-year-old Robert Cataldo, of Queens, claimed to be at work six days last summer when he was really on vacation in Italy. The county's commissioner of investigations says he found out about Cataldo in March and he paid the money right back. But Dillon says his office should have been notified immediately.

In early August, another seasonal employee was accused of falsifying timesheets totaling $12,000. The Deputy County Executive in charge of parks, Michael Klein, has since resigned. The Nassau County executive?s office says both men were hired by Klein.
