Three teens accused of stealing mail and trashing mailboxes in Southold
Police have cracked the case of stolen letters in Southold. Police say Eamon Barrows, his twin bother Max and their friend Catherine Breining not only wrecked a bunch of mailboxes in the last few weeks, but also swiped what was inside in some cases. There were nearly two dozen reports of damaged boxes and missing mail on Bayview Road and surrounding streets. Police say they believe the trio was searching for gift cards. The three teens were arrested Sunday for the crimes that officials say took place between December 21 and January 7, which is right in the middle of the holiday season. Each of the teens is charged with six counts of criminal mischief and tampering with private communications. They are due back in court February 3.
