Parents of sexually abused Deer Park teen speak out
The parents of the Deer Park teen who was allegedly sexually abused by teammates on his basketball team spoke out Friday.
The parents say their son was initially excited to play on the junior varsity level as an eighth-grader, but was then forced to suffer for months as three teammates tormented him on a daily basis. They say the school district has not done enough to punish those responsible, and added that even expulsion will not help their emotionally scarred son.
The three students accused in the incident have all been suspended. Two have already met with the superintendent. The third student, who is the only suspect facing criminal charges, will meet with the superintendent on Monday.
