Residents voice concern over proposed natural gas terminal on the LI Sound

? The U.S. Coast Guard is working on a security analysis for a controversial proposal from Broadwater Energy to build a natural gas terminal in the Long Island Sound.

The Coast Guard is also evaluating environmental concerns associated with the project. Environmentalists are citing the potential for disaster and the heavy financial burden on taxpayers.

The Coast Guard is reviewing the hundreds of e-mails and letters it receives daily and says it will take them into consideration when it issues its report within the next two months.
