A Valley Stream home that was the site of a grisly murder 17 years ago is now on the market to be sold.
The mutilated body of 13-year-old neighbor Kelly Ann Tinyes was found in the basement of the Golub home at 81 Horton Road in 1989. Robert Golub, 21 at the time, was convicted of the murder and sentenced to 25 years in prison. Golub's parents, who have never accepted their son's guilt, have continued to live on the same block as the victim's family since the murder.
Richard Tinyes, Kelly Ann's father, believes the entire Golub family was involved in the murder and is offering a $100,000 reward for any information. Many residents, citing long-standing tensions in the neighborhood, admitted they will not be sad to see the Golubs leave and are surprised the family stayed as long as they did.
