Five accused of trying to use forged prescriptions at Elmont Walgreens
Five people have been arrested after police say they tried to use forged prescriptions to buy a powerful painkiller at a pharmacy in Elmont. According to police, a Queens Village man tried to use a forged prescription Sunday to purchase the narcotic painkiller Oxycontin at a Walgreens. About five hours later, four men from the Bronx were arrested when they tired to purchase the same painkiller with another forged prescription. The five suspects have been charged with possession of a forged instrument in the second-degree. Police are investigating if the two incidents are related.
