North Lindenhurst man charged with shaking his infant son
A 24-year-old North Lindenhurst man has been arrested and charged with nearly shaking his infant son to death.
Police say Joseph Perri lost his temper and began shaking 4-month-old Gabriel after the child would not stop crying. Authorities say Gabriel was having trouble breathing and was rushed to the hospital, where doctors discovered a bruise from a previous instance of neglect. Police believe Perri let his son fall off his lap earlier this week and did not seek medical attention.
Perri has been charged with two counts of assault and endangering the welfare of a child. He is being held on $300,000 bond. Gabriel is listed in critical condition at Good Samaritan Hospital.
