Peeping Tom has female Hofstra students concerned over safety

Students at Hofstra University are on edge after a Hempstead man was caught spying on a female student in a bathroom.

Police say David Sanchez entered a stall in the ladies' room in the New Science Building, got onto the floor and peered into the next stall while a female student was using the toilet. Police say Sanchez, who is a custodian at a local supermarket, was nabbed for a similar incident in the University Center last September.

The incident has students calling for increased security on campus. School officials say patrols were beefed up after the first incident and that student protection is their main priority. Sanchez is being charged with criminal trespass and harassment.
