Drunk driver responsible for fatal Wantagh Parkway crash is sentenced

The drunk driver responsible for a 2004 Wantagh Parkway crash that left two dead was sentenced in Mineola Wednesday.

Anthony Raffio, 24, will spend two and a third to seven years in prison for the accident that killed Ginamarie Dell'Anno and Matthew Adducci. Prosecutors say Raffio was driving drunk at speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour when he crashed on the Wantagh Parkway in October of 2004.

The families were pushing for a 15 year sentence, but compromised blood evidence reduced the maximum sentence to seven years. Frank Adducci, Matthew's father, says he feels betrayed by the system.
