Ex-inmate to file lawsuit against jail guard

A former inmate at the Suffolk County Jail says she is filing a lawsuit against a guard she claims raped her while she was incarcerated in May.

Renee Trudel-Moran, of Mastic Beach, says the guard raped and sodomized her before beating her. Moran claims other inmates witnessed the attack. She decided to file a federal lawsuit against her alleged attacker after discovering she is pregnant. The guard's name has not been released.

Moran's attorney says paternity tests will be performed to determine if the guard is the father of the unborn baby. Moran's attorney plans to file a notice of claim against Suffolk County Tuesday. The lawsuit will seek $50 million in damages.
