Long Island's largest biotechnology company informed its employees Tuesday it is packing up and moving, possibly delivering a blow to Long Island?s economy.
OSI Pharmaceuticals Inc., based in Farmingdale, is moving to Westchester. Employees say they?ve been asked to make the move with the company. OSI is best known for its lung cancer-fighting drug Tarceva.
OSI?s CEO says it ran into opposition when it wanted to expand its Farmingdale headquarters and simply got a better real estate deal in Westchester. The company expects to begin the move at the end of the year.
