A search operation went under way in Babylon Cove Saturday after police say they found a deserted boat idling off the coast.

Suffolk's marine bureau and the Coast Guard took to the water in search of 49-year-old Ralph Blachly, of Dix Hills, who went missing early Saturday morning.

Divers focused their search around a gas station located near the spot where Blachly's boat was found because they believe it was either docked there or approaching that location before Blachly's disappearance.

Police say they do not suspect foul play. Anyone with information about the missing boater's whereabouts is asked to call 631-852-6040.
