Volunteer says he was hit-and-run victim

A Red Cross volunteer says he was the victim of a hit-and-run early Sunday morning in Uniondale.
Bruce Vesloski says he was on his way to help tenants affected by a house fire on New Street at about 4 a.m. when he was hit.
"A car crossed over the line and ran into my Red Cross vehicle," he says. "I was thinking he was going to stop, but he didn't."
Vesloski, who wasn't injured, says he's been volunteering for about four years, including working on Hurricane Katrina relief and had never been involved in an accident before Sunday.
